Mark Preston founded Preston Appraisal in 1997 to provide accurate, quality residential appraisals throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Mark built the company on the foundation that providing the best real estate appraisal services to every client meant not only quality and accurate valuations but also superior customer service.

Mark, who majored in business and management in college, credits his early years in property and retail management for developing Preston Appraisal’s customer-centric communication focus. Mark understands building a service business on superior customer service means taking the time to communicate with the client from the ordering process through appraisal delivery. Mark’s commitment to exceptional communication and customer service is witnessed by Preston Appraisal’s diverse list of satisfied clientele. Our clientele includes local homeowners, attorneys, accountants, bankers, real estate brokers, as well as national lenders and appraisal management companies throughout the United States.

Preston Appraisal’s valuations have been an important component for litigation, mortgage transactions, tax, estate and numerous other transactions. Divorce, estate taxation…some of life’s most difficult and stressful times requires not only an accurate and competent appraisals but a professional and service-oriented individual as well. Now in our 27th year, we have prepared thousands of personalized valuations ranging from quick verbal opinions to standardized written reports and more expansive narrative reports for a variety of clients and properties. Accuracy and integrity are certainly a component of our continued success. But our most frequently received (and appreciated) compliment received from our valuations continues to be our exemplary customer service.

Courtney Preston started as an Executive Assistant for Mark in High School. Soon after graduating from college cum laude from Bridgewater State University in 2016, she decided to pursue her interest in the real estate appraisal industry. She was intrigued by the appraisal process and began taking appraisal courses with MBREA in 2017. By the end of 2017 she received her Trainee License and began training full time under Mark’s supervision.

Courtney completed her hours of training and required appraisal courses and applied to take the Certified Residential Appraisal Exam. In December 2020, she passed the Massachusetts state appraisal exam and immediately started working for Preston Appraisal as a Certified Residential Appraiser. Since becoming fully licensed, Courtney has become an approved appraiser for many of the clients with Preston Appraisal. Courtney is able to perform appraisals for all types of residential property including single and two-to-four-unit dwellings, condominiums and vacant land. She is also FHA approved in the State of Massachusetts. Courtney has been a huge asset to the company and has been praised by many clients on her knowledge, courtesy and professionalism. She represents both private and financial clients throughout Southeastern Massachusetts.
